For quite long now, this blog had developed the eerie sight of cobwebs and dust, and I think it's time for spring cleaning... well, maybe, I think. For quite some time now, i've been meaning to create a new design for a series of blogs I intend to call "rengised." I can remember opening a blog in i.ph just because the link was quite small and easy to remember. Now I face the horrible "simplicity" of calliope blogging: that is, limited designs to choose from and non-customizability. Maybe I'll just drop that and recommend it to some of my "not-so-technical" friends (hala, bad!...) Well, I've had it and I think i'm just gonna think it all over, the name, the branding, and everything. After some small surveys and with reviewing it all I decided to rename TMAG (our company) into just "megakinesis" instead of having its full name "the megakinesis animations group" (quite long and cumbersome). megakinesis will then have subsidiaries such as the animations, videos, softwares, and hopefully, productions and movies. With this general facelift/rebranding, I think I am making quite a lot of brands, so I'm thinking of dropping "rengised" in favor of neo4386 as my overall online presence "brand." New site www.mpsc.edu.ph/ssc bears the new logo of megakinesis. After this comes the total facelift, including the site and the avp. Just keep posted. I will still consult with the TMAG Board if they would agree to my decision on rebeanding. This brings us back to the overall clutter and the source: time constraint (hala kalayo...) Well, time is really against me not to mention the new activities we are having now in the company. We are having a Housing Madness on October 19-21 2007 at the Limketkai Mall Rotunda (please be there). We will be having Audio-Visual Presentations (AVPs) and also some exciting activites where you will be the first ones to witness. Launching of products, etc... So, this implies that I won't be able to do the updates quite some time now until the Madness finishes. Well, please understand that I am quite annoying now, and with this I will end my words, since I am just using a computer in our e-library and it is about to close. Bye, until next time.

Yehey!!! Last Friday, 13th of July '07, I availed of an installment plan at an appliance center near our workplace right after I received my salary. Finally, after a long wait, I bought a Sony DSC-W35 Digital Cam. It's a 7.2 MP cam with Carl-Zeiss lens at 3x zoom, maximum ISO1000 and adjustable exposure values. Built in selectable white balance, macro shot, etc. Here's a review at http://www.steves-digicams.com/2007_reviews/w35.html Well, I've been to a lot of shops here in CDO. I made a list of what's available, And I decided on quite a few options: Canon Powershot Cams and Sony Cybershot W-series and S-series. I had quite an experience on digital cams before, when I attempted on making the MPSC Info-Tech Website (not realized yet). I had experience using a Cybershot DSC-W5 and I remember quite well that it produced superb quality for a Digital Cam. It has drawn my standard line on DigiCams. Then I had a couple of experiences on CyberShot cams, a P-series and a t9. I also used a Canon Powershot A series. Then I concluded (by myself) that a Carl Zeiss lens on a Cybershot is a great advantage. Now that I had decided on a cam, it was one of my search criteria, including price (of course.) Now I had decided on a W35, and I have no regrets. At first I tried comparing noise with other shots I had taken previously, and was surprised that the W5 still has greater quality over a w35. What? Well, I was so dumb not to realize that it was all resized (hahaha). When I looked at an unresized version from the W5, it was all worthwhile. They were quite the same. Noise actually does vary depending on the brightness of the photo, and I have made quite a number of resolutions now. These are, to shoot with a flash if I made quick "barkada" shots, to use no flash and a brightly lit area for macro shots, and of course... I'll get a tripod! Luckily my brother from Laguna decided to lend his tripod to me. (Thanks bro, you're one in a million.) Digital Photography, here I come!!! (Got to open more flickr, photobucket, and multiply accounts now!)

Last Friday we had our technical research masteral class at MPSC. Our class ended at about 7:30 PM. Walking out of school, Pearl (my classmate) and I opted for a quick dinner at Lim Ket Kai. After our dinner we decided to take the CM-recto -> Osmeña route for Cogon. We decided to walk so we could have ample time for a chit-chat. Passing by the billboards of the Limketkai Cinema's "Now Showing List," our attention was caught with this peculiar sign: (click for a larger image) Uh... Ok... So Pearl came up with a brilliant title for her thesis, which was "A Case Study: The difference between Die Hard 4.0 and 0.4.)" Well well....

PearPC + Windows + Tiger 10.4 = Pain in the Behind... Yet
Got that just right for now... My top boss has a MacBook for his business meetings and personal computing, so when he would like to make presentations using his mac we would do some cross-testing to get the right stuff right (since I am responsible for his presentations). And since I couldn't just bulge in his office and grab his mac for testing (God knows what would happen if I do that) so I decided to try out the open-source PearPC to emulate Mac on my desktop pc running Windows. I was very excited to try it out at first, but later then I developed a severe headache that I had to rest for a minute or two. Yes I did follow it right, but there was one problem that I could not solve. I made an image of the two MacOS X Tiger installation disks, where one is a 4GB and the other is an 8GB ISO. I downloaded a compressed empty virtual hard disk from the net, pre-formatted with the MacOS Partition, made the necessary configurations, and fired up the command line. d:ppc> ppc.exe macosx.config Yup, it did give me some blahs on the window, and the boot prompt which allows me to select the dis(c/k) to boot. Naturally, I went for the tiger iso to boot it, but at the end It gave me a "memory->claim failed" error... What a drain... I already tried various detours, including using the nativecdrom parameter pointing to the original disc, tried increasing the memory (and my pc has a 1gb module and a 3ghz processor), re-editing the config, disabling the network config, and everything. To no avail. Finally, I gave up, and tried to ask the gurus. Fortunately, Sir hardwyrd was so kind to answer my questions , and I'll try it on VMWare with the FreeBSD profile. Phew! Gotta try my luck then. Good luck to me...

Haay... what a Good Morning...
First off, we all woke up early because my mom and my younger sister will have to line up at school for the enrollment (same old MPSC...) and I had to wake up with them or I would eat a cold breakfast.
I got my openSuSE up and running, and configured Xgl this morning. It was very easy, using the driver that NVIDIA has provided. Within a minute, I'm having that whooping windows and rotating cube.
While I was boarding a Motorella for work we passed by Lourdes College. Within a state of shock, I saw a very familiar face walk by the side of the gates. Joyzee!!!
I haven't seen some classmates for a long time now, and how I wish we could go out and have some fun for a day. Classmates, please beh...
Anyways, I had to rush to the office to continue the task given to me by our President. at 8:30, I finished the job and handed it to the secretary. Luckily, the Pres. just arrived, so I was just on time for my submission.
What a happy morning! I just wish it would be a happy day...
